History of Fingerboards

Fingerboards were first introduced as a toy in the 1970’s. They became a novelty that people attached to keychains later on, being first introduced by skate shops. They then became a standard product in conjunction with regular skateboards since the late 1980’s. They weren’t really rideable, but instead were seen as just novelty items.
Tech Deck actually started popularizing these miniature skateboards by making them more friendly for finger riders. As the years progressed, manufacturers made more and more additions to these fingerboards, including eventually including interchangeable parts, such as wheels and trucks.
These days, fingerboarding is becoming more and more popular in Europe and the United States.
